“Girl From The North Country” is launching a North American tour in the fall of 2023.
The production, which features the music of Bob Dylan, will premiere at the Orpheum Theater in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The theater is located two hours from Duluth, Minnesota, which is Bob Dylan’s hometown and serves as the setting of the musical.
A full cast announcement and additional tour stops will be announced later this year.
“It’s quite an honor for Hennepin Theatre Trust to launch the national tour given Minnesota’s love of Bob Dylan and what he has meant to the state and the Orpheum Theatre,” said Mark Nerenhausen, Hennepin Theatre Trust president and CEO.
“Bob Dylan owned the Orpheum during a period of time during the 1970s and 1980s, making this a full circle moment of celebration of his iconic music and storytelling.”
“Girl From The North Country” is produced by Tristan Baker & Charlie Parsons for Runaway Entertainment.
The show is currently running on Broadway at the Belasco Theatre in a limited engagement through June 11, 2022. The Broadway production originally opened on March 5, 2020, but closed due to the pandemic a week later. The production reopened on Oct. 13, 2021, and played through Jan. 23, 2022, closing due to the Omicron surge. It reopened on April 29 for a limited engagement.
“Girl From The North Country” is also currently playing in Australia. A UK and Ireland tour is set to launch next month.
