Sonia Friedman Productions announced plans Friday to bring Tom Stoppard’s “Leopoldstadt” to Broadway next season.

The production, directed by Patrick Marber, ran in the West End in fall 2021, after its earlier run was postponed by the pandemic. It won the 2020 Olivier Award for Best New Play.

The production is holding Broadway auditions this month. A theater and a production schedule will be announced at a later date, according to the release.

The play was originally scheduled to make its North American premiere at Toronto’s Princess of Wales Theatre in January 2022. That run was canceled due to rising COVID-19 cases in the area, alongside capacity and travel restrictions.
