Patti LuPone has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not perform in “Company” until at least March 8, the production announced Sunday.

LuPone, who plays Joanne, reported symptoms of COVID-19 before the “Company” matinee on Feb. 26 and received two additional tests from the production, which confirmed the diagnosis. Increased testing for cast and company members was enacted as result of LuPone’s positive case, according to the production.

“Hi Dolls. I showed up for Saturday’s matinee, tested positive for Covid with 3 tests. Unfortunately, I’ll be out of the show for 10 days. I’m so sorry,” LuPone wrote via her Twitter account.

“She is home resting, and everyone wishes her a speedy recovery,” the production said.

LuPone’s listed understudies for the role are Jennifer Simmard, who regularly performs as Sarah, and Anisha Nagarajan.
