NaTasha Yvette Williams to join ‘Tina’ on Broadway

NaTasha Yvette Williams will assume the role of Zelma in “Tina” starting Feb. 4, producers announced Monday. Williams takes over the role of Zelma, who is the mother of Tina Turner, from original Broadway cast member Dawnn Lewis. Lewis will play her final performance in the musical on Jan. 30.

NaTasha Yvette Williams will assume the role of Zelma in “Tina” starting Feb. 4, producers announced Monday.

Williams takes over the role of Zelma, who is the mother of Tina Turner, from original Broadway cast member Dawnn Lewis. Lewis will play her final performance in the musical on Jan. 30.

Earlier this season, Williams appeared in “Chicken and Biscuits.” She has also appeared in “Chicago” and “Waitress,” among other Broadway productions.

“Tina” reopened at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre on Oct. 8. The musical is produced by Stage Entertainment, James L. Nederlander and Tali Pelman in association with Tina Turner.
