“Mrs. Doubtfire” canceled performances through Dec. 19 after breakthrough COVID-19 cases were discovered within the company.
The show had previously canceled its Dec. 12, Dec. 14 and Dec. 15 performances after positive cases were detected. The production said it is on “hiatus” and expects to resume Dec. 21.
The cast and crew at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre are tested on a daily basis. All workers on Broadway are required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
“Mrs. Doubtfire” joins a raft of cancellations on Broadway. “Tina” canceled its Dec. 16 show after initially canceling on Dec. 15 and “MJ” canceled its Wednesday matinee and evening performance. “Hamilton” canceled its Dec. 16 and Dec. 17 shows. “Freestyle Love Supreme,” “Tina,” “Ain’t Too Proud” and “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child,” were forced to cancel performances earlier this week after cast and crew members tested positive for the virus.
