“Moulin Rouge!” and “Jagged Little Pill” canceled their Thursday evening performances, with each citing a breakthrough COVID-19 case in the company.
The cancellation at “Moulin Rouge!” came about due to a “late-in-the-day positive test result,” according to the production. Audience members were already seated in the theater for the show when the announcement was made, according to social media accounts.

“Moulin Rouge!” said it would provide an update on its performance schedule Friday. “Jagged Little Pill” expects to resume performances tomorrow.
The two productions bring the number of dark shows Thursday evening to six. The other canceled productions Thursday were “Mrs. Doubtfire,” now closed through Dec. 19, “Hamilton,” “Tina” and “MJ.”
“Freestyle Love Supreme,” “Ain’t Too Proud” and “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” canceled performances earlier this week after cast and crew members tested positive for the virus.
All cast and crews working on Broadway must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. The Broadway League said it is speaking with unions about establishing protocols for workers to receive booster shots.
