Nik Dodani, Ben Thompson to join Broadway cast of ‘Waitress’

Nik Dodani will take over the role of Ogie in “Waitress” on Broadway. Dodani, who recently appeared as Jared in the “Dear Evan Hansen” film, will make his Broadway debut in the role. Ben Thompson will take over the role of Earl, a role he previously played on Broadway.

Nik Dodani will take over the role of Ogie in “Waitress” on Broadway.

Dodani, who recently appeared as Jared in the “Dear Evan Hansen” film, will make his Broadway debut in the role. Ben Thompson will take over the role of Earl, a role he previously played on Broadway.

Dodani and Thompson begin in their roles on Oct. 19, taking over from Christopher Fitzgerald and Joe Tippett, respectively. They join Jennifer Nettles, who will play Jenna from Oct. 19 through Nov. 24 and takes over from Sara Bareilles, the musical’s composer.

“Waitress” is playing a limited engagement at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre through Jan. 9. The production began performances Sept. 2.
