‘Moulin Rouge,’ ‘The Inheritance’ top Tony Awards list

“Moulin Rouge!” swept the Tony Awards Sunday night, bringing home 10 trophies.

The musical won awards for Best Musical, Best Direction of a Musical and Best Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Musical (with Aaron Tveit as the sole nominee in the category), among others. “Moulin Rouge!” also took home trophies in all musical design categories, while “A Christmas Carol” won the design awards in the play category. 

“The Inheritance” won for Best Play and “A Soldier’s Play” won for Best Revival of a Play.
