‘Chicago’ announces casting for Broadway return

Ana Villafañe, Bianca Marroquín, Lillias White, Raymond Bokhour and Ryan Lowe will lead the cast of “Chicago” for its reopening this fall, producers Barry and Fran Weissler announced Monday. Villafañe will play Roxie Hart when the musical returns next month.

Ana Villafañe, Bianca Marroquín, Lillias White, Raymond Bokhour and Ryan Lowe will lead the cast of “Chicago” for its reopening this fall, producers Barry and Fran Weissler announced Monday.

Villafañe will play Roxie Hart when the musical returns next month. Marroquín, who has appeared in over 4,000 performances on Broadway in the role of Roxie Hart, will now make her debut in the role of Velma Kelly. White returns to the role of Matron “Mama” Morton, after having previously taken on the role in the Broadway production in 2006. Bokhour will play Amos Hart and Lowe will play Mary Sunshine.

Casting for the role of Billy Flynn has not yet been announced.

The cast also includes David Bushman, Jennifer Dunne, Jessica Ernest, Jeff Gorti, Arian Keddell, Mary Claire King, Barrett Martin, Sharon Moore, Drew Nellessen, Celina Nightengale, Brian O’Brien, Denny Paschall, Angel Reda, Jermaine R. Rembert, Michael Scirrotto, Christine C. Smith and Brian Spitulnik.

“Chicago” is scheduled to resume performances at the Ambassador Theatre on Sept. 14.
