“Moulin Rouge!” cast members will headline the opening night ceremony of the 2021 US Open, the US Tennis Association announced Thursday.

The musical’s leads, Aaron Tveit and Natalie Mendoza, will be joined onstage by fellow cast members Jaqueline B. Arnold, Robyn Hurder, Holly James and Jeigh Madjus.

The performance is set to take place on August 30 at Arthur Ashe Stadium before the tournament’s evening session of play.

“The US Open is back, Broadway is back, and what better way to celebrate our greatest return but with a performance from Moulin Rouge! The Musical, to open this year’s US Open,” said Mike McNulty, USTA Chairman of the Board and President.

This event comes just under a month before “Moulin Rouge!” is scheduled to resume performances at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre on September 24.
