Calleri Casting is renaming the casting office Calleri Jensen Davis.
The name now reflects the contributions of the three company partners, James Calleri, Erica Jensen and Paul Davis. In addition to the name change, the company said it is deepening its commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion and will work on developing more diverse talent pools.
“As a Black business owner, and one of the few BIPOC casting directors in New York, this is a conversation I’ve been involved in for a long time. I know I speak for many when I say I am optimistic about the prospect of real and lasting change when it comes to the stories that get told and who gets to tell them,” Jensen said. “That said, our primary goal of this renewed focus is to continue to fulfill our team’s mission: to bring the very best talent to each and every project we work on.”
Calleri Jensen Davis was founded in 2006 and works in casting Broadway and Off-Broadway productions, major motion pictures, television series and movies, music videos and audiobooks. The office will be working on several upcoming Broadway productions, including “For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide / When the Rainbow is Enuf,” “Thoughts of a Colored Man” and “Blue,” according to the press release.
The office previously cast Broadway productions including “Burn This,” “Fool for Love,” “The Visit” and “Hedwig and the Angry Inch.” Television projects include “Dickinson” and “When They See Us.” Film projects have included “Love is Blind” and “Another Earth.”
