Miranda Haymon has been appointed as a resident director of Roundabout Theatre Company.
As a resident director, Haymon will direct works at Roundabout, including the premiere of Dave Harris’ “Exception to the Rule,” and play a part in the theater company’s season planning. Haymon takes on the role after joining Roundabout as a directing fellow in 2017, working as an assistant director of “Travesties,” and overseeing its directing group.
Haymon joins existing resident directors Rebecca Taichman and Anne Kauffman.
The 2020 premiere of “Exception to the Rule” was postponed due to COVID-19, but it is now scheduled to run as part of Roundabout’s Underground series in 2021.
In addition to Haymon, Roundabout has named Cristina Angeles, currently a directing fellow, as an associate artist. In that role, Angeles, who assistant directed “A Soldier’s Play” and “72 Miles to Go…,” will help develop work at Roundabout.
