“MJ,” the Michael Jackson musical, is hosting nationwide auditions to cast a young Michael Jackson and an understudy for star Ephraim Sykes.

The production will hold auditions for Michael Jackson, aged late teens to 30, as well as a 10-year-old Michael Jackson. The auditions will be held in January in Washington, D.C., Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Atlanta, New York City and Los Angeles.

The musical, which features a book by Lynn Nottage and direction by Christopher Wheeldon, is slated to begin previews at the Neil Simon Theatre on July 6, 2020, with an opening night on Aug. 13.
