Maria Dizzia to helm two stops of ‘What the Constitution Means to Me’ tour

Maria Dizzia, a Tony Award nominee for “The Next Room, In the Next Room (or the Vibrator Play),” will star in the first two stops of the “What the Constitution Means to Me” tour.

Dizzia will perform the lead role, portrayed by Heidi Schreck on Broadway, at the Mark Taper Forum in Los Angeles from Jan. 12 through Feb. 16 and in Chicago at the Broadway Playhouse. Additional cities and new casting for the remainder of the tour will be announced this winter.

Original Broadway cast members Mike Iveson and Rosdely Cirprian will reprise their roles in Los Angeles and Chicago.

Dizzia’s New York credits include “If I Forget,” “The Layover,” “Belleville,” “Uncle Vanya,” “Cradle and All,” and “The Hallway Trilogy. She portrayed Polly on three seasons of Netflix’s Orange is the New Black.”

The national tour of “What the Constitution Means to Me” is produced by Diana DiMenna, Aaron Glick, Matt Ross and Level Forward & Eva Price.
