Actors’ Equity presented “Head Over Heels” with the Extraordinary Excellence in Diversity on Broadway Award for the 2018-2019 season.

Now in its 12th year, the award is given to shows that “exemplify and promote the union’s founding principles of diversity, inclusion, non-traditional casting and equal opportunity.” The award was presented to Louise Gund, producer of “Head Over Heels,” and director Michael Mayer Thursday.

“They’ve truly helped change the landscape of Broadway, and we are grateful for the positive impact that this show will continue to have for years to come,” said Christine Toy Johnson, national chair of Equity’s Equal Employment Opportunity Committee.
