Charles Flateman, the executive vice president of business development at the Shubert Organization, will take over as chairman of the board of directors at NYC & Company, the marketing organization for the city of New York.
Flateman takes over the post from Emily K. Rafferty, president emerita of the Met Museum, who will step down from her position in February 2020, after serving in the role for close to 12 years. Flateman will step in for the remainder of her term, through February 2021.
He has been a board member of NYC & Company, the organization behind Broadway Week and Off-Broadway Week, since 1995 and has served as vice chairman of the board since 2015.
“I can think of no better role model and mentor than Emily Rafferty, who has guided NYC & Company with great success for over a decade,” Flateman said in the press release. “I’m proud to follow in her footsteps and in the footsteps of past Chairs Jon Tisch and Tim Zagat.”
