Where did that infernal banana go?
This is not the kind of question you expect to be rattling around your brain during an evening of theater. And yet rattle me it did more than once during “Derren Brown: Secret,” a solo show of mind-exploding feats of psychological manipulation and, yes, secret-divining that has come to Broadway after a successful run two years ago at the Atlantic Theater Company.
Brown, a British performer and author who has been practicing his uncanny arts for about two decades now, certainly conjured an impressive trio of above-the-title producers to present his show: prolific filmmaker J.J. Abrams (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens” is among his many credits) alongside “Hamilton” director Thomas Kail and the musical’s lead producer, Jeffrey Seller. That alone is a neat trick.
