Opinion: The best of the West End on Broadway this season

Never mind a land-based wall that Donald Trump may or may not erect with Mexico, or American trade tariffs being imposed on China; forget, too, the soon-to-cease free trading between Britain and its nearest European allies and neighbors if or when the UK crashes out of the E.U.  There’s one area of free trade that remains unrestricted: the theatrical exchanges between the West End and Broadway.  We are long used to trans-Atlantic transfers of hit shows between London and New York. And why not? As the two world capitals of English-speaking theater, they are not just the two largest markets…
