Paula Vogel’s Pulitzer Prize-winning “How I Learned to Drive” will premiere on Broadway this spring.

The play, which had its world premiere at the Vineyard Theatre in 1997 and then transferred to a commercial Off-Broadway run, will star Mary-Louise Parker and David Morse, the stars of the original production. Directed by Mark Brokaw, who helmed the original production, the play will begin previews at the Samuel J. Friedman Theatre on March 27, 2020, with an opening night on April 22.

This is the second Broadway show in one season for Parker, who is also slated to lead “The Sound Inside,” which begins previews on Sept. 14. On Broadway, she has also starred in “Heisenberg,” “Proof,” for which she won a Tony Award, and “Prelude to a Kiss,” among others.

Morse starred in the 2018 revival of “The Iceman Cometh,” in addition to “The Seafarer” and “On the Waterfront.”

This marks a return to Broadway for Vogel, who made her debut with “Indecent” in 2017. She received the 1998 Pulitzer Prize for Drama for “How I Learned to Drive,” which had not had a Broadway run until this season.

Brokaw’s Broadway credits include “Heisenberg,” starring Parker, as well as “Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella,” and “Cry-Baby.”

The play is produced by Manhattan Theatre Club, Daryl Roth, Cody Lassen and The Dodgers in association with the Vineyard Theatre.

Additional casting and the design team will be announced at a later date.
