“Hadestown” will launch a national tour beginning in the fall of 2020, the producers announced Tuesday.
Winner of the 2019 Tony Award for Best Musical, the “Hadestown” tour will visit more than 30 cities including Denver; Houston; Los Angeles; Minneapolis; New Orleans; Philadelphia; Tempe; and Washington, DC. Additional cities will be announced at a later date.
The musical, with a book and score by Anaïs Mitchell and direction by Rachel Chavkin, is currently playing the Walter Kerr Theatre on Broadway, where it opened on April 17, 2019.
The tour and the Broadway production are produced by Mara Isaacs, Dale Franzen, Hunter Arnold and Tom Kirdahy.
