‘A Christmas Carol’ to play holiday run on Broadway

“A Christmas Carol” will transfer to Broadway this winter from the West End.  Written by Jack Thorne, the book writer of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” and directed by Matthew Warchus, who directed Broadway’s “Groundhog Day,” “A Christmas Carol” will play the Lyceum Theatre beginning Nov. 7.

“A Christmas Carol” will transfer to Broadway this winter from the West End.

Written by Jack Thorne, the book writer of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child” and directed by Matthew Warchus, who directed Broadway’s “Groundhog Day,” “A Christmas Carol” will play the Lyceum Theatre beginning Nov. 7. It will play a strictly limited engagement through Jan. 5, 2020.

Opening night is set for Nov. 20.

Campbell Scott, a series regular on “House of Cards” and who previously starred in Roundabout’s “Noises Off” on Broadway, will star as Ebenezer Scrooge

The play is produced on Broadway by Tom Smedes, Heather Shields, ShowTown Productions and Catherine Schreiber.

The creative team for “A Christmas Carol” includes scenic and costume design by Rob Howell, music and arrangements by Christopher Nightingale, lighting design by Hugh Vanstone and sound design by Simon Baker.
