“Tootsie” has announced the launch of a North American Tour, as well as plans for international productions on the West End and in Australia and Japan.

The musical, which opened at the Marriott Marquis Theatre on March 29, will begin its expansion in fall 2020 with a North American tour at Shea’s Buffalo Theater in Buffalo, New York.

On the West End, producers Scott Sanders and Carol Fineman are partnering with producers Michael Harrison and David Ian on a planned run in 2021.

An Australian production is also confirmed as part of a partnership with Benjamin Lowy Productions. That production will also play New Zealand, Singapore, Thailand, Hong Kong and Taiwan.

TOHO Co., Ltd., a film, theater production and distribution company, will premiere a Japanese-language production of “Tootsie” in Tokyo. That production will tour several cities in Japan.
