A musical adaptation of “Almost Famous” is in development and will feature music by Tom Kitt.
The musical is produced by Lia Vollack, on behalf of Columbia Live Stage, Joey Parnes, Sue Wagner and John Johnson. The show will feature a book by Cameron Crowe, who wrote the Academy Award-winning screenplay about his own life.
Crowe will also write lyrics along with Kitt, who is currently represented on Broadway by “Head Over Heels.”
The musical has tapped Jeremy Herrin, who has directed the 2016 revival of “Noises Off” and “Wolf Hall” on Broadway, as its director.
