Alex Brightman will star as the title character in the world premiere of the musical “Beetlejuice,” alongside Sophia Anne Caruso, who will play Lydia.
The pair will star in the “pre-Broadway” engagement at the National Theatre in Washington D.C. beginning Oct. 14, 2018. Alex Timbers will direct the musical, which features choreography from Connor Gallagher, a score by Eddie Perfect and a book by Scott Brown and Anthony King.
The musical, which is an adaptation of the 1988 film, opens in D.C. on Nov. 4 and will play a limited run ending on Nov. 18.
“Beetlejuice” features scenic design by David Korins, costume design by William Ivey Long, lighting design by Kenneth Posner, sound design by Peter Hylenski, projection design by Peter Nigrini and puppet design by Michael Curry.
Warner Bros. Theatre Ventures and Langley Park Productions are the lead producers.
