Ken Davenport and Kurt Deutsch are developing a new musical based on the characters in the “Vacation” franchise.
Deutsch and Davenport announced Monday that they had optioned the musical rights to the characters from the franchise. The musical, “Broadway Vacation” will follow the Griswold family as they take a trip to New York.
“Both Kurt and I came of age on the Vacation films series and can’t wait to bring the Griswolds to Broadway,” Davenport said in the press release.
Earlier this month, Davenport announced that he had obtained the musical rights to the life of Joy Mangano, an entrepreneur whose life was portrayed in the 2015 movie “Joy.”
