MTC announces ‘The Nap’ and ‘Choir Boy’ for 2018-2019 season

Manhattan Theatre Club announced “The Nap” and “Choir Boy” as its first two Broadway productions of the 2018-2019 season. Their season begins in September with the American premiere of “The Nap,” written by Richard Bean and directed by Daniel Sullivan.

Manhattan Theatre Club announced “The Nap” and “Choir Boy” as its first two Broadway productions of the 2018-2019 season.

Their season begins in September with the American premiere of “The Nap,” written by Richard Bean and directed by Daniel Sullivan. “Choir Boy,” written by Tarell Alvin McCraney, in his Broadway debut after co-writing the film “Moonlight,” and directed by Trip Cullman follows in December.

Both shows will play at MTC’s Samuel J. Friedman Theatre.

Previews of “The Nap” begin Sept. 4, 2018, with an opening night on Sept. 27, 2018.

“Choir Boy” was commissioned by Manhattan Theatre Club and had its American debut at MTC’s Studio Stage II in the summer of 2013. Previews begin Dec. 27, 2018, with an opening night on Jan. 22, 2019.

Casting and creative for both plays are to be announced soon, according to the press release.
