Theatre Communications Group (TCG) has announced that Elena Chang has been promoted to the newly created position of managing director of EDI initiatives. In the role, Chang will supervise the launch of TCG’s inaugural Theatre for Activism series, a new initiative in which activists in theater will develop and share methods for accountability and more.
Chang previously served as TCG’s director of EDI initiatives beginning in 2018; she started with the nonprofit in 2016. As managing director of EDI initiatives, Chang will work to implement equity, diversity and inclusion values and policies across the full organization. She will report to CEO Teresa Eyring.
Recently, TCG appointed new co-publishers in the organization’s books division.
Established in 1961, TCG aims for better communication among professional, community and university theaters across the country. Today, it is a network of more than 500 member theaters and over 250 university, funder, trustee and business affiliates.
