The Broadway revival of “Sunset Boulevard” has found its venue. The previously announced production will begin previews on Sept. 28 and open on Oct. 20 at Broadway’s St. James Theatre. Directed by Tony Award nominee Jamie Lloyd, the Main Stem mounting is a transfer from a West End production, which completed its run at London’s Savoy Theatre on Jan. 6.

Nicole Scherzinger will reprise her West end performance as Norma Desmond for the Broadway production. Joining Scherzinger are her London co-stars Tom Francis as Joe Gillis, Grace Hodgett-Young as Betty Schaefer and Olivier Award winner David Thaxton as Max Von Mayerling. Additional casting, by Jim Carnahan and Jason Thinger, will be announced at a later date.

Featuring music by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics and a book by Don Black and Christopher Hampton, “Sunset Boulevard” chronicles former silent film star Norma Desmond as she reflects on her diminishing career.

The St. James is currently home to the revival of “Spamalot,” which will close on April 7. A Broadway transfer of Sufjan Stevens’ dance musical “Illinoise,” currently playing Off-Broadway at Park Avenue Armory, will play a limited run in the interim.

Also announced, “Sunset Blvd: The Album,” which was recorded live at London’s Savoy Theatre, will be release in October via the Other Songs.

“Sunset Boulevard” is being produced on Broadway by the Jamie Lloyd Company, Ambassador Theatre Group Productions, Michael Harrison for Lloyd Webber Harrison Musicals and Gavin Kalin Productions by arrangement with the Really Useful Group Ltd and based on the Paramount Pictures film directed by Billy Wilder.
