“Some Like It Hot” will come to Broadway this fall.

The musical adaptation will be led by Christian Borle as Joe/Josephine, J. Harrison Ghee as Jerry/Daphne and Adrianna Hicks as Sugar. The production will play the Shubert Theatre starting Nov. 1, 2022. Opening night is scheduled for Dec. 11.

The cast will include Kevin Del Aguila as Osgood, NaTasha Yvette Williams as Sweet Sue, Adam Heller as Mulligan and Mark Lotito as Spats.

These cast members participated in a series of work sessions for “Some Like It Hot” in March. Full casting will be announced at a later date.

The musical, based on the 1959 film, features a book by Matthew López and Amber Ruffin, music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Shaiman and direction and choreography by Casey Nicholaw.

The adaptation follows the storyline of the MGM film, starring Marilyn Monroe, Tony Curtis and Jack Lemmon, in which two male musicians are forced to flee the city and disguise themselves as women in an all-female band.

“Some Like It Hot” is produced by the Shubert Organization and Neil Meron and co-produced by Roy Furman, Robert Greenblatt, the Nederlander Organization and Kenny Leon. The production had previously announced a 2021 Broadway opening.

The musical was developed as part of an overall production package between the Shubert Organization, Meron and the late Craig Zadan.

“Some Like It Hot” takes over the Shubert Theatre after “POTUS,” which is scheduled to end its run on Aug. 14.
