‘Tina’ to launch North American tour in fall 2022

“Tina—The Tina Turner Musical” will launch a multi-year North American tour starting this fall, producers announced Thursday. The tour will stop in more than 40 cities in its first year, starting with a one-week engagement at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island.

“Tina—The Tina Turner Musical” will launch a multi-year North American tour starting this fall, producers announced Thursday.

The tour will stop in more than 40 cities in its first year, starting with a one-week engagement at the Providence Performing Arts Center in Rhode Island. The tour will also stop at the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis in March 2023.

Additional tour destinations and casting details will be announced at a later date.

“Tina” features the music of Tina Turner and a book by Katori Hall with Frank Ketelaar and Kees Prins. The production is directed by Phyllida Lloyd, and features choreography by Anthony van Laast, set and costume design by Mark Thompson and lighting design by Bruno Poet. The show is produced by Stage Entertainment, James L. Nederlander and Tali Pelman, in association with Turner.

The musical is currently running at Broadway’s Lunt-Fontanne Theatre after reopening on Oct. 8, 2021.
