Deeksha Gaur, the co-founder of Show-Score, has been promoted to chief executive officer of the theater review site.

Under her leadership, the company plans to expand to regional markets across the country  in the next year. With Gaur’s promotion, Tom Melcher, the former CEO, will become chairman of the company.

“60% of our members live outside of NYC, and regularly ask for our help discovering nearby shows. I’m delighted that Deeksha will help us further our mission by connecting these fans to their local theaters around the country,” Melcher said in the press release.

Before co-founding Show-Score, Gaur began her theater career in senior marketing and press positions at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, Two River Theater Company and Long Wharf. She is treasurer of the board at SPACE at Ryder Farm and sits on the board of Ars Nova.

“I’m thrilled to help drive Show-Score’s next phase of growth,” Gaur said in the press release.

As the company grows, Gaur’s plan is to expand upon Show-Score’s existing system of documenting and organizing word-of-mouth responses, which is the biggest driver of ticket sales.

“Our approach has worked well in New York, and we’re confident, based on our tests to date, that they will work as well in regional markets,” she said.
