“Suffs” has announced the upcoming release of an original cast recording. The Atlantic Records release featuring the score by Shaina Taub will be available digitally on June 7. The album is available to preorder now.

An initial song, “Keep Marching,” was recently released, along with an accompanying music video, both of which feature Taub.

“We are deeply proud to partner with Atlantic Records to release the ‘Suffs’ Original Broadway Cast Recording,” said producers Jill Furman and Rachel Sussman in a statement. “This new musical inspires audiences eight times a week at the Music Box Theatre, and we are thrilled to introduce this powerful story, and Shaina’s remarkable score, to fans all around the world.”

“I grew up in rural Vermont listening obsessively to Broadway cast albums on the boombox in my bedroom,” said Taub in a statement. “To get to make one of my own with this miraculous cast and orchestra is beyond my wildest childhood dreams. I’m so grateful to Atlantic Records for making it possible, and can’t wait to share these songs and this story with the world.”

“Over the past decade, we’ve been honored to work with visionary composers to help bring their stories to life on record-breaking cast albums,” added Pete Ganbarg, Atlantic Records president, artists and repertoire. “We’ve been huge fans of Shaina’s for a while and are thrilled to be working with her and her incredible team to bring the timely story of ‘Suffs’ to the world.”

The album will feature the vocals of “Suffs”’s original Broadway company, including principals Taub as Alice Paul, Nikki M. James as Ida B. Wells, Jenn Colella as Carrie Chapman Catt, Grace McLean as President Woodrow Wilson, Hannah Cruz as Inez Milholland, Kim Blanck as Ruza Wenclawska, Anastacia McCleskey as Mary Church Terrell, Ally Bonino as Lucy Burns, Tsilala Brock as Dudley Malone, Nadia Dandashi as Doris Stevens and Emily Skinner as Alva Belmont/Phoebe Burn.

Set in 1913, “Suffs” explores the history — triumphs and failures alike — of the women’s suffrage movement. The musical, which features a book by Taub, began previews on March 26 and opened on April 18 at the Music Box Theatre. Leigh Silverman directs while Mayte Natalio choreographs.

“Suffs” is produced by Furman and Sussman. Hillary Rodham Clinton and Malala Yousafzai serve as co-producers.
